Singapore’s First and Longest Rainbow Tunnel Light Art Installation
From HDB flats to sheltered walkways to overhead bridges, Wei’s “Very Momentary Exhibition” rainbow light intervention has arrived at the Alexandra Point Tunnel as a permanent light installation Just like when a rainbow appears when you least expect, the once-ordinary white lights in the tunnel magically transitions into a mesmerising spectrum of colours for a few minutes at specific timings daily.
Between wanting to bring art to the Alexandra precinct and the tunnel serving its core function of being a walk way, it was a balancing act between the artists and the management teams of the Alexandra Point Tunnel. The result is one that promises to bring momentary surprises like artist Wei’s “Very Momentary Exhibition” series. The art installation is unassuming with its typical white lights but completely transforms into Wei's signature rainbow lights. In addition, the collaboration with various artists has enhanced the rainbow lights experience with movement (Matthew Sia), sound (The Analog Girl) and powerful words (Chong Jia Yi).
Locating just next to the Alexandra Point bus stop along Alexandra Road (refer to Google map location here), the rainbow light at the Alexandra Point Tunnel will appear for a few minutes each day at 8am, 9am, 12pm, 1pm, 6pm, 7pm and an undisclosed surprise timings.
Throughout 2024, visitors can expect to see House of VSE collaborations with various artists to respond to the theme “What’s inside your rainbow?”. So do stay tuned for future updates here or simply follow us on instagram @houseofvse.

Why we need your support? We strongly believe in the message and the artistry of certain work of an artist that must be brought to our community. As such, we fund the entire exhibition from flying the artist in from overseas, paying for certain expenses, use of space, logistics and a whole lot more. In order to continue such endeavours, we need the support of you our patrons. Take a look at our supporter pledges and choose how you would like to be involved. We look forward to welcome you into our House.
